About the Association

A volunteer-run association of Wyoming firearms collectors, built around one weekend a year and one idea: teach the next generation to do this safely.

What we are for

A family organization, first

The WWCA is, above all, a family-oriented organization. We believe that hunting and shooting sports offer a unique opportunity to instill discipline, ethics, and a profound respect for safety in our youth.

That is not decoration on a letterhead. It is the charitable purpose the association is registered under, and it is what the money does: educate youth in the Second Amendment and firearms safety, foster ethics, and reward marksmanship proficiency.

For years the WWCA pursued that by writing checks to outside groups — which bought us a thank-you letter and not much else. Putting an NWTF youth shooting range on our own show floor was a step outside the comfort zone, and it changed everything. Ninety-eight kids shot it in 2026, and the Wyoming NWTF doubled its statewide JAKES youth membership off the back of one weekend.

Our one gathering of the year

The Memorial Weekend Gun Show

The association's annual show has run on Memorial Day weekend at the Fremont County Fairgrounds in Riverton for nearly four decades. May 2027 is the 38th Annual.

There is an important distinction between our show and a regular circuit gun show: ours is a fundraiser. It is the one time all year the whole association is in the same place, so we work to make it feel like an occasion — the Friday supper, the Saturday catered dinner, Sunday Cowboy Church — and we deliberately keep table prices reasonable and favour our members, because dues-paying members invested in this organization are what make the show work at all.

Everything the show clears goes back into the association's charitable mission.
